EXERCISE AND MITOCHONDRIA

THE PERFECT BOOST FOR YOUR ENERGY

Mitochondria are tiny “power plants” within our cells that ensure our body gets the energy it needs. They convert the food we eat—such as sugars and fats—into a type of “fuel” that our cells can use. This energy molecule is called ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

Energy is esential for everything our body does: breathing, moving, thinking – all of it requires energy.  Without enough energy, our body can’t function properly.

Exercise plays a particularly important role in keeping our mitochondria healthy. When we move, our body demands more energy. This signals our mitochondria to work harder and renew themselves more rapidly. As a result, they become more efficient and capable of producing more energy.

By staying regularly active, we enhance the performance of our cellular “power plants,” which leads to more energy, better health, and a stronger body in the long term.

.

HOW EXERCISE STRENGHTENS OUR MITOCHONDRIA

More Mitochondria Through Movement:   Endurance training and strength exercises stimulate the formation of new mitochondria, boosting energy production and stamina.

Optimized Mitochondrial Function:

Physical activity improves the efficiency of mitochondria, allowing the body to utilize nutrients and oxygen more effectively – enhancing overall performance.

Protection Against Oxidative Stress:  Exercise helps reduce oxidative stress, which can damage mitochondria, and supports the production of antioxidants that protect our cells.

Mitochondrial Biogenesis:  Physical activity activates genes responsible for the creation of new mitochondria, increasing cellular energy levels.

💡HOW EXERCISE ACTIVATES OUR GENES AND STRENTHTHENS CELLULAR HEALTH

🏋️‍♀️🧬🔋Exercise can trigger epigenetic changes in genes related to mitochondrial function and cellular health.
For example, endurance training can boost the expression of genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative phosphorylation, helping mitochondria work more efficiently.

📚Research has also shown that regular physical activity has positive epigenetic effects on genes linked to metabolism, inflammation, and immune function.

Our gut is much more than a digestive organ – it’s the center of our well-being. It hosts a complex community of microbes known as the microbiome. In a healthy gut, these microorganisms work in symbiosis to support digestion, produce vitamins, and regulate the immune system.

Stress can occur in two forms: acute and chronic. Acute stress is the body’s short-term reaction to a sudden challenge or threat. We're constantly exposed to small, acute stressors
CHRONISCHER STRESS
